FAQ
Q: How does the thickness of the contact surface affect the pull force of the hook?
A: In industrial applications, the rated pull force is typically measured on a clean, flat 10mm thick steel plate. If the mounting surface is thinner (e.g., a thin sheet metal cabinet), the magnetic flux will saturate the metal, leading to a significant reduction in effective holding power. We recommend choosing a larger base diameter if your mounting surface is less than 5mm thick to compensate for flux loss.
Q: Can these magnetic hooks be used outdoors or in high-moisture areas?
A: Yes, our factory applies a specialized triple-layer Ni-Cu-Ni (Nickel-Copper-Nickel) coating which acts as a robust barrier against oxidation. However, for extreme maritime or chemical environments, we can provide a 304 Stainless Steel shell or an Epoxy coating to further extend the service life of the assembly and prevent surface rust from compromising the magnetic circuit.
Q: What is the difference between vertical pull force and horizontal slide force?
A:This is a critical distinction for factory safety. The vertical pull force (perpendicular to the surface) is much stronger than the horizontal slide force (parallel to the surface). On average, the sliding resistance is only 15% to 25% of the total vertical pull. If you plan to hang heavy tools on a vertical wall, we suggest using a hook with a high-friction rubber pad or selecting a model with a higher rated capacity.
